PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) bridges the gap between the ease of PLA and the toughness of ABS. It offers excellent impact resistance, chemical resistance, and a slight flexibility that prevents brittle failure — all while being nearly as easy to print as PLA.
PETG has good tensile strength (50 MPa), superior impact resistance compared to PLA, and a heat deflection temperature of around 70°C. It’s FDA-approved for food contact in its raw form.
Functional prototypes, mechanical parts, food-contact containers, protective covers, water-resistant housings, medical device prototypes, and packaging prototypes.
